Solar lighting and Power back-up

Solar  backup means you will have power when the grid is both up and down. All you need to do is create your own energy with the sun and store it in a solar deep cycle battery. This can be especially useful if you are in an area that has an unreliable grid, or is susceptible to severe weather. Solar will be the primary source of energy while kplc will be back-up.

An off-grid system typically has five elements:

• renewable electricity source – solar PV and / or wind;
• back-up generator (diesel);
• inverters / converters as required to convert dc electricity to ac (and possibly ac to dc);
• batteries to store electricity generated by the renewable energy source;
• master controller and/or battery management system to control the operation of the system.
